Loftus Training Solutions was founded by Matt Loftus – an experienced Mental Health Trainer, Consultant and Public Speaker.
Having worked in the education sector for over 16 years, including as a senior leader in education; Matt opened one of the first alternative provider free schools in the UK, responsible for recruiting and training all teaching and support staff in positive behaviour management, safeguarding and mental health awareness. Matt has also worked privately for an education technology company, as a consultant for safer recruitment and mental health lead. Matt remains active in the sector, as a Teaching Fellow in Education at Birmingham City University.
Matt specialised as an outdoor adventure professional during his teaching career, responsible for the planning and oversight of numerous adventurous expeditions for students and staff; including as an overseas expedition leader for secondary schools. The great outdoors plays a huge part in his own mental health and wellbeing self-care programme – with Matt being just as comfortable leading a group to a mountain summit, as he is in the training room environment.
Matt is passionate about sharing knowledge with others and supporting those experiencing poor mental health. He currently volunteers as a crisis volunteer for Shout85258; helping others experiencing anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation.
